The image linked to shows an object now in Room 61 at the British Museum, London. It’s hard to believe Nefertiti, Akhenaten’s wife, would have allowed herself to be seen doing this in public, because the tomb image shows it being performed by a servant-girl. (Maybe she did it in private, or with only her husband watching.) The blue headpiece must be after the bust of Nefertiti found in the sculptor Thutmose’s studio at el-Amarna.
