Sumerian Caveman

Sumerian Caveman

This prehistoric forager dude is meant to be an ancestor to the Sumerians, whose civilization thrived in what is now southern Iraq (or Mesopotamia) near the delta of the Tigris-Euphrates rivers. I always thought the Sumerians, as portrayed in their own art, looked almost like cavemen with their sheepskin tunics despite being one of the earliest agricultural civilizations known to archaeology. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did indeed inherit that kind of sheepskin fashion from Paleolithic ancestors.
