INKTOBER Hole in the Horn

October has begun. Time to break out the inking pens and participate in Inktober!

This Triceratops has a bullet-hole bored into the base of its horn, causing it a lot of chronic pain that would make it irritable. And believe me, you don’t want an irritable Triceratops around.

I hatched the idea after reading about a bull elephant which went rogue and terrorized villages in what is now Kenya during the early twentieth century. When the hunter J. A. Hunter shot it, he found a musket bullet lodged in one of its tusks, which had caused a lot of pain for the animal and thereby triggered its violent behavior.
